The seas of commissioning

I met with our GPCC/CCG/CCC chairs this week. They are both very smart, experienced GPs who have steered their crafts through uncharted waters. Apparently the map they should be using is due out ‘at the end of the month’. The authorisation process will explain to our intrepid explorers whether the vessel in which they have commenced the journey is to be allowed to progress further.

Spooky presence at the NHS Confederation conference

I enjoy the odd jolly about. I like the travel, usually first class, I like the catching up with old friends, the odd drinky poos in the hotel bar. In short I enjoy a good conference. This week I went ‘oop north’ to the NHS Confederation in Manchester.

Granted it was cold, wet, and took place in an old railway station, but this conference was remarkable.
