Seriously, I ask you – the White Paper is blowing across the empty streets with broken windows after the riots, the newspapers are full of Libya, we need to use 24 hour monitoring and finally pay more for the pension.

The commissioning Olympics – is it worth competing for a bronze medal?

I’m assuming by now that you have read the guidance, still in draft, about how to become an authorised clinical commissioning group?

If you have not had the chance then let me save your the trouble. It is still draft, still a bit light on detail but promises that by the time the Olympics is over we’ll all have won a medal.

The seas of commissioning

I met with our GPCC/CCG/CCC chairs this week. They are both very smart, experienced GPs who have steered their crafts through uncharted waters. Apparently the map they should be using is due out ‘at the end of the month’. The authorisation process will explain to our intrepid explorers whether the vessel in which they have commenced the journey is to be allowed to progress further.
